Vibrant horn and hook-laden jangle guitar counterpoint the smooth, melancholic vocals and cerebral lyrics ofThe Autumn Stones. Convened in April 2010, the Canadian dreampop band is comprised of Ciaran Megahey (lead vocals, guitar), Marcus Tamm (bass), Gary Butler (saxophones, guitar) Dan Dervaitis (guitar, backing vocals) and Ray Cara (drums).

Writing alone, Ciaran crafts lyrics exploring inner struggle, philosophy and relationships, then lays down rough guitar-with-drum machine demos. In a warehouse rehearsal studio the band shapes the songs before bringing them to live audiences in venerable Toronto institutions including The Horseshoe Tavern, The Garrison and Adelaide Hall.

Debut album Companions of the Flame was released May 03, 2011.

In 2013, the group participated in NOW magazine’s 50/50 video series, providing a sultry arrangement of Feist’s “One Evening” (Let It Die).

2014 saw the release of three singles: “End Of Faith,”“In with the Out Crowd” and “Endless War,” all engineered, mixed and co-produced by Dean Marino (Papermaps) and mastered by Noah Mintz (The National, Broken Social Scene).

Featuring a new version of “End Of Faith,” The Autumn Stones’s sophomore album Escapists was released July 07, 2015. Notable appearances surrounding the release included shared bills with The Cribs, The DMA’s and In-Flight Safety.

Guitarist, Dan Dervaitis joined the band in 2016 and began collaborating with Ciaran on new material for the band’s follow-up album. They plan on heading into the studio to record some time in 2017.
